Colchicum antilibanoticum (6)
|Mt. Hermon the southern-most and the highest part and the Anti-Lebanon mountain range. 窶連nti' here means 窶椀pposite', as that mountain range is parallel to the Lebanon Mountains range, which is closer to the Med. Sea. |
The Anti-Lebanon mountains have a number of endemic species, including Colchicum antilibanoticum, shown here. These flowers were all captured at 1500 m a.s.l., last Tuesday, Nov. 14, which happened to be Luciano's birthday. Buon compleanno, Luciano!
