Sympetrum flaveolum paringsrad / Geelvlekheidelibel paringsrad / Yellow-winged Darter / Gefleckte Heidelibelle / Le symp騁rum jaune male.

So, this is Yellow-winged Darter (Sympetrum flaveolum). Pay attention to the bases of wings: the large yellow spots are there. For this sign it is possible to distinguish this dragonfly from any other. This spot is both at males and at females.

There is appreciable difference in colouring of males and females. Males are painted in red tone: from red-brown up to red-yellow, thorax is some dacker than abdomen. Females (and young males) are yellow-brown. Sides of thorax have black stripes on seams and abdomen has black strip on sides in both sex.
Yellow-winged Darter is medium-size dragonfly: abdomen is up to 2,5 cm length, wing is up to 3 cm length.

It is possible to meet this dragonfly from middle of summer till late autumn, sometimes much far from a water. But it needs in thicken reservoirs with a standing or slowly water for reproduction.

If to wash up the car in this pool (hole, ditch) or to throw out household sweepings in it (especially the balloon from any patented trash with unknown magic formula), then dragonflies do not remain here. This evil pursues many of our dragonflies, which breed in similar places: Broad-bodied Chaser, Four-spotted Chaser, Leucorrhinia rubicunda, and many-many others. The mosquitoes survive, but dragonflies not! Because of this it is possible to meet these beautiful insects near our cities and settlements less often.

Hello Harm,
mating in an unusual position, I think, dragonflies and damselflies read the Kamasutra. It's always unbeleavable which positions they can have - and the also can fly so. I love this insects so much.
Very nice and interesting shot, thanks for sharing, bye bye
