Hello friends, this photo was done
in winter 2014, the squirrel is in
jumping pose from a dead tree to the feeder,
its jump is in 2 phase, he goes up and then
he goes down having a diving pose like here.

From winter 2014 I still have a lot of
photos like this one where I can post
in coming weeks/months/years.

1/1000s f/5.6 ISO1600 85mm (35mm eq:127mm).

From Canadian Museum of Nature website.

ォ Despite its name, eastern grey squirrels
are highly variable in colour. The typical
colouration is a grey back with white
underparts and some yellow-brown areas
around the head, flanks and under the tail.

White animals occur rarely; the most common
variety apart from grey is black. The black form
is found mainly in northern parts of the range,
mostly in eastern Canada; the darker colour may
give the animals a thermal advantage (help keep
them warmer) during winter. サ

Merci.

Hello Asbed,
When I watch your post of Flying Squirrel,I remember a comment of Mr.George Valtchev on your flying squirrel picture where he described not to use wide aperture to get good details, but it was long time ago.Day by day we are watching how you have upgraded your capturing ability.
Excellent picture this one too with splendid details and colour.
Thanks for sharing,
Regards and have a nice time,
Srikumar

Hi Asbed,
Great photo of the flying squirrel. :-) Beautifully composed shot with good exposure. The shallow DoF helps to isolate the main compositional element a lot, because you haven't had good lights, unfortunately. But you solved the problem of low light very well and the result's outstanding! Congratulations.
Best regards, L疽zl
