The Yellow Footed Wallaby, Petrogale xanthopus, is a rock wallaby and extremely rare. Its conservation status is Near Threatened.
On the edge of Charleville in SW Queensland is a captive breeding program so this photo was taken there and not in the wild where you have no chance of seeing one as they are very shy.
The head and body length is 480窶650 mm (usually 600 mm), with tail length 570窶700 mm (usually 690 mm), and they weigh about 6窶11 kg

Hello Ian,
Beautiful photograph with perfect exposure and details. Although, personally I prefer bit more space in front than back portion. But here the way you have placed the Wallaby, not looking bad. Bit digital noise still in the background. Otherwise nice presentation.
Thanks for sharing,

Hi Ian,not a pose like an actor but the wallaby seems a bit sad and bored..ehehe...but the pic is fantastic, what a quality, sharpness and colors, beautiful shot,i like it! Have a nice SUnday and thanks,Luciano

Hello Ian,
Excellent details and colors. A very nice Wallaby specie. Being so small no doubt it is threatened.
Sure it is hunted by predators including.
It is a wonderful image.

I like the rocky setting of this capture, Ian. It gives a good impression of the habitat of this mammal from Australia.
The subtle colour shades on the subject are very natural.
