I need help in identifying this insect. But this my first shot of insect on the move. My attempt so far has been still shots. Attempted to shoot this bee (I think so). Hope you like it. Any critics/comments are welcome. Ganesh

Hi Ganesh,

Looks like a bee to me but I know as much as you do. This picture reminds me of the hummingbirds here who hover over one flower and then change their minds and dart off to another one. The insect is nice and sharp with the blurred wings showing the motion. Beautiful colors and details of it and the flowers.

It almost looks as a honey bee...really or if not then it's cousin...it has gear for the pollination and the return of honey to where it sees the queen! Great image even if I am wrong!

Hello Narayanan,

There are wonderfull colors in your photo especialy the insect with it's blue-green circles. Inesct, flower and background are doing a fine contrast enhacing the yellow-orange of the flower.

Thank you for sharing,

Hello Ganesh,
A very good in-flight, especially as it is your first.
This is a species of Solitary Bee belonging to a genus that tends to hover over flowers like this one is doing, that could a species of Anthophora.
You took it from a fine POV with good sharpness and nicely composed with the lantana flowers.
TFS this beauty,

Hello Ganesh,
What a lovely in-flight capture of a luminescent little Bee! Fantastic colours and well in focus. Fine smooth background and the yellow Lantana looks lovely too.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hello Ganesh,

I agree with Ivan. It looks like anthophora sp.. Nice composition. Good sharpness of the bee. Very nice vivid colours.
